Of The Church & Biographies
Rev.
Harry M. Hilborn
was the founding Pastor of the Evangelical Spiritual Church (ESC) in 1934.
He served the church continuously as Pastor until his death in 1997. Rev.
Hilborn was ordained in May of 1933 and was the youngest certified medium
in the Illinois State Spiritualist Association. He joined the Independent
Spiritualist Association of the United States of America (ISA) in 1931.
In 1937, he was elected as ISA trustee, an office he held for 17 years.
He served as Vice President for 2 years. In 1956, he was elected President
and held that office until 1996 at which time he was appointed President
Emeritus. Rev. Hilborn always had a driving desire for Spiritual Knowledge.
His mother had a spiritual Indian friend who kept her one step ahead of
all the mundane tasks of this world. Rev. Hilborn displayed spiritual demonstration
early in his life and started public works during his school years.
Rev.
Mahala D. Bacon, Th.D.,
a fully ordained minister, is a graduate of Williams College for Women.
Always interactive with the spirit vibration and communication, she
began formal training under the direction of Rev. Robert Pearce. Even
today, Mr. Pearce continues to partake in Rev. Bacon's unfoldment and
takes an active interest in her activities. She started her association
with Rev. Hilborn in 1975. She soon became his student, after which
she fulfilled the positions of secretary and associate minister of the
Evangelical Spiritual Church (ESC). She currently serves as the Pastor
of ESC and is the founder and Spiritual Director of United Spiritual
Council of Nations. Rev. Bacon was born and raised in Florida and has
a strong religious background in the Unity beliefs and Catholicism.
Her studies encompassed psychology, religion and public relations. Rev.
Bacon's Grandmother and Great Grandmother were known for their spiritual
abilities and works. Their influence on her and demonstration of the
Spirit continued to provide this pathway as a way of life. The accomplishments
and achievements attained by Rev. Mahala Bacon in the field of Religion
and Membership Organizations with Evangelical Spiritual Church warrants
inclusion in The Heritage Registry of Who's Who, which resides
at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC.
